The Early Childhood Program is based on the Creative Curriculum. Ours is a play- and center-based program focusing on the development of academic and social-emotional skills through learning centers. Students travel to play-based academic centers to strengthen core skills and enhance socialization between peers. Teachers facilitate students as they participate in activities, differentiating learning for each student's needs. Centers are frequently updated to reflect current units of study. These centers address 21st century skills such as creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking. Religion is integrated through the day as God is at the center of everything we do.
As with all students at our school, Early Childhood students engage in a wide variety of special subjects and enrichment opportunities. Through our Active Classroom initiative, students in Early Childhood participate in physical education twice a week. Students participate in art, foreign language (Spanish), and music weekly. Technology is integrated into the classroom with student use of iPads, SMART Boards, and Promethean ActivPanels. Students play games, practice handwriting, and take virtual field trips around the world through these exciting mediums.
